From there, we've developed a style of cooking and hospitality rooted in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean traditions, that also draws in diverse influences and ingredients from around the world. Our commitment to the championing of vegetables & unusual ingredients, has led to what some call The Ottolenghi effect- a shorthand for the creation of a meal full of colour, flavour and joy. We’re looking for an experienced Baker to join Ottolenghi’s Central Production Unit and take a leading role in creating our high-quality baked goods. This is a hands-on position where you’ll manage production, mentor junior bakers, and help maintain the efficiency and excellence of our bakery.What you’ll do:<ul><li>Lead the preparation and baking of a wide range of bakery products</li><li>Ensure all products meet Ottolenghi’s recipes and quality standards</li><li>Monitor baking processes, including mixing, proofing, baking, and cooling</li><li>Conduct quality checks on ingredients and finished products</li><li>Supervise, train, and mentor junior bakers and bakery assistants</li><li>Assign tasks, oversee daily operations, and provide feedback to the team</li><li>Manage inventory, coordinate ingredient orders, and minimise waste</li><li>Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised workspace</li></ul>What we’re looking for:<ul><li>Minimum of 1 years’ professional baking experience.</li><li>Strong leadership and team management skills</li><li>Extensive knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients</li><li>Creativity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Organised, flexible, and physically able to work in a busy, hot kitchen</li></ul>Working hours:<ul><li>You will work 5 shifts per week within our 7-day operating schedule</li><li>Flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays</li></ul>What we offer:<ul><li>Comprehensive health benefits and staff meals during shifts</li><li>Career development and tailored training opportunities</li><li>English language courses, if required</li><li>Enhanced parental pay, and birthday treat</li><li>Refer a friend bonus and staff discounts</li><li>Workshops &amp; demos in the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen</li><li>Wellness support and a friendly, supportive team</li></ul>If you’re a skilled baker with leadership experience and a passion for creating exceptional products, join Ottolenghi’s CPU team!
