Warehouse Assistant - Receiver

Ottolenghi CPU

LondonFrom £13.60 per hourFull time

At Ottolenghi, we're known for vibrant food, busy delis, and restaurants full of energy — but what really matters is our people. We create environments where teams feel supported, take pride in what they do, and deliver a genuinely warm experience to every guest.

Our Central Production Unit on Holloway Road is the team that keeps every Ottolenghi venue running smoothly. Working behind the scenes, the CPU supports our restaurants and delis across the group — ensuring everything is in place so our teams can do what they do best. It's a hands-on, people-first environment, and some roles may involve travel to our sites. We are now looking for a talented Warehouse Assistant to join our team

What You’ll Do

  • Receive and manage deliveries for all departments across the CPU
  • Ensure deliveries are directed to the correct department and alert the relevant manager when they arrive
  • Check deliveries for damaged ingredients, broken packaging or other quality issues and report these promptly
  • Organise and rotate stock using the FIFO (first in, first out) method
  • Regularly check best-before dates and highlight any stock concerns
  • Assist with warehouse orders and monthly stock takes, bringing any imminent shortages to the attention of the managers
  • Prepare daily warehouse orders for our Ottolenghi sites, including bagged products, jars and other items
  • Print delivery notes and ensure all orders are clearly labelled for drivers
  • Prepare deliveries according to daily store orders, ensuring crate labels are clearly visible
  • Count, wrap and prepare packaging according to required pack sizes
  • Pack and vacuum-pack dry ingredients for warehouse orders where required
  • Keep the warehouse clean, tidy and well organised, including shelves and floors
  • Dispose of empty cardboard boxes and unnecessary pallets safely
  • Follow all company procedures relating to food safety, allergens, hygiene and workplace health and safety

What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic and flexible approach
  • Good physical strength and stamina, with the ability to work in a hands-on environment
  • An understanding of stock management, rotation and the importance of accurate stock levels
  • A good understanding of food hygiene, allergens and health & safety
  • Mature, confident and resourceful, with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a busy environment
  • A reliable team player who is happy to support different departments when needed

What You’ll Need

  • Level 2 Food Safety
  • Workplace Health & Safety training
  • Basic Fire Safety
  • Allergen Awareness

What’s in it for you?

  • 28 days annual leave per year, inclusive of bank holidays
  • Delicious Ottolenghi staff meals on shift and generous staff discount
  • Health and well-being support through our HSF healthcare plan (covering dental, optical, physiotherapy, and more), plus a 24/7 GP helpline and access to Perkbox discounts
  • Refer a Friend Bonus: £500 for each successful referral
  • Learning & Development opportunities including management coaching, WSET wine training, Ottolenghi Chef’s Academy workshops, and access to external courses
  • A warm, inclusive working culture where individuality, growth, and creativity are celebrated
  • Enhanced Parental Pay after two years’ service
  • A special birthday treat to celebrate your day
  • Exclusive workshops and demos, including cooking, food, wine, and cocktail sessions in the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen
  • A collaborative and creative environment where your ideas are valued

If you care about great food, great people, and doing things properly, we'd love to hear from you.
